Are you drinking enough water?

It all begins with an idea.

We all know that we should be drinking lots of water to stay healthy and allow our body to function properly but sometimes we just don’t make it a priority. Drinking water is an essential part of meeting our goals.

Water makes up 40-70% of our body mass, it helps us keep healthy metabolism, supports transport of waste products, sorts our temperature out, helps regulate blood pressure along with a whole plethora of other things.

Often we wait until we are thirsty until we drink but we are already dehydrated by that point. Making sure we are hydrated before we exercise is so important and for every thirty minutes of intense exercise we do we should aim to drink 500ml of water.

How much should we drink? Well, everyone is different, it depends on body mass but a good aim is 2.5-3litres a day.

If you are someone who knows they don’t drink enough try setting some alarms on your phone throughout the day to remind you. Small habits make a huge difference over time!
